Rather than serve up disposable pop tropes, his writing is introspective, the production is lavish & varied, and there's at least one ♯catchy element to each track. There's perhaps too much genre-cycling from track to track (it has a compilation feel), and the separation is only enhanced by the long list of guest features and ♯collabs (a few derail the songs). In all, a fantastic pop record (which I wish there were fewer distracting features).
