I have no doubt I'll feel the same way by the end of the year as well. Spectacular song writing and elaborate & layered instrumentals are arranged through a lens of classic rock sensibilities-- familiar bridges and hooks, reverb tones and the like-- lend to the impression of navigating deep into a dream-world reflection of Angel's inner world. Angel Olsen expertly uses those hints of familiarity like landmarks, guiding the listener for a specific mood or message, only to depart to something more immense, I dunno, beyond description. It's not 'transcendental' in a pseudo-spiritual sense, I suppose 'colossal' or 'sublime' would be the correct term.
